How Do I Stop Getting Annoyed with my Partner?
I get this question all the time:
“How do I stop getting annoyed with my partner and show up in a way that feels like me?”
When your partner does something that irritates you, it’s normal to feel annoyed.
You might have the urge to react from that place but often, that reaction doesn’t really help.
In trying not to feel bothered, you can end up creating more hurt or distance.
There are many ways to handle reactivity, but here’s how I see it: acting out of irritation usually isn’t effective.
It can help to pause, ride the wave of that feeling, and then choose to respond in a way that lines up with your values.
That could look like asking yourself what’s really happening for you or your partner or even taking a short break and coming back when you feel grounded.
